The Ugly Side of Beauty

A combination of lead (should NEVER be exposed to children or pregnant women, according to the Centers for Disease Control), arsenic, cadmium, nickel, beryllium, and other toxins have been found in several popular brands of make-up. You will NOT find these toxins on the label because they are considered to be 'impurities', not added intentionally, but existing only as byproducts. Absorbing these toxins through the skin can cause a long list of health problems. The Campaign for Safe Cosmetics is calling for policy change to reformulate make-up products and make contents labeling clearer.
